United States Postage Stamps: 1939
The United States Post Office issued seven stamps in 1939, including the classic New York World’s Fair stamp featuring the Trylon and Perisphere, a personal favorite of mine with its stylized geometric design. The Golden Gate International Exposition was also featured on a well designed stamp that year. Baseball, Washington’s First Inauguration, the Panama Canal, Printing in Colonial America and the 50th anniversary of statehood for four states: Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota and Washington State.
